The POS (Point Of Sale) Data Logger is similar to
a portable magnetic stripe reader in that it logs data and can be used for
memory back-up in case of power failure. This device quickly connects
in-line on the POS terminal. We're sure you have seen these POS terminals
in just about EVERY store & some terminals have a computer-like
keyboard with a built-in credit card reader, others have a separate credit
card reader and some even have a credit card reader with a PIN pad where
you enter your PIN # if you are using a debit card. This device logs
approximately
15,000 card
swipes/data in its GIANT MEMORY.
It grabs the ENTIRE contents of all data passing through the terminal
including credit card or debit card #, expiration date, discretionary
data, etc., along with PIN # (if Pin pad is used). It appears like
an ordinary RFI suppressor commonly found on many cables plugged into
these machines. It will work on ANY POS machine that connects to a PC via
the PS2, AT, XT port. Once the data is logged, the device can be EASILY
AND QUICKLY removed (takes about 2 seconds for installation or removal)
from the store POS machine and plugged into another computer where you can
download and save the data. The primary use for this device is in case of
a computer and/or power failure and transactions are lost, then the device
can be used to reconstruct transactions to be re-processed. Complete
instructions are included. Photos show various examples of the logger
connected to a POS terminal. Various POS terminals can be special ordered,
please email with your needs.
